SHAREWARE INFO

     Bat Filer is distributed under the SHAREWARE  system.  Those interested in trying the program can obtain a copy from bulletin boards and users groups.  If you or your company find the program useful, I ask that you send in a registration fee.  In essence, shareware is "try before you buy" software.  Registered users receive a copy of the Bat Filer documentation and notice of upgrades.  The cost to register a single copy of Bat Filer is $15.00 US.

     If you do not choose to register as a Bat Filer user, I ask that you delete all your copies of the Bat Filer program and files.  Some people remark about shareware - "I use it, but not often enough to warrant paying."  A utility program like Bat Filer by its very nature is not used every day - but that one time you need it, you really need it.  The rule of thumb I suggest is you compare the value of your time multiplied by time saved using Bat Filer, versus the registration fee.  If you value your time at $20 an hour, and Bat Filer saves a half hour of time a week (over what it would take to do the same file operations using the Finder plus other DAs, etc), then in less than a month the cost of registration has justified itself.

     HOW TO REGISTER

     To register, select the “Shareware Info” command from the “Specials” menu, then select the “Print Form” option.  Complete the registration form and return it with your payment.  Site licenses for Bat Filer are also available.  Complete information is available through the “Shareware Info” command.

     The Bat Filer program is not disabled or trapped in any way.  Its sole requirement is that the file "Shareware Info" must be present in the same folder as the Bat Filer application.
